Thanks
to a Cookham based charity, St
Mark's Hospital in Maidenhead has officially received a DEXA scanner for
the detection and management of Osteoporosis, enabling it to provide a
local service for Borough residents. On Wednesday 15th December, Mrs
Camilla Parker Bowles, President of the National Osteoporosis Society
attended the formal opening. She was delighted that the fund-raising
group had achieved such a goal in so short a space of time. Money for the
scanner was raised by C.A.S.H. following its biggest request since it
started in 1983. C.A.S.H. would like to thank all those organisations and
individuals who supported this appeal.
Our
current appeal is for a portable Cardiac Echo Sound, also for St Mark's
Hospital, costing £34,000. This will enable consultants to provide
on-the-spot diagnosis, removing the need for a second consultation and
further patient visits to the nearest monitor at Wexham Park. Pictured
