It is the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Stanley Spencer Gallery at the King's Hall in Cookham High Street. To celebrate this Gail Dorrington and Mandy McAllen are putting on an exhibition at Holy Trinity Parish Centre. There was a special opening in April and there will be another on Sunday 13th May (2-5pm).

The paintings are based on Spencer's view of Cookham and how he may view it in the twenty first century. There are several portraits of local residents. Many of Spencer's paintings and drawings included local residents and he also included them in his more general paintings such as his religious ones, such as the Resurrection which shows Holy Trinity church.
