Ten o'clock in the morning and the St John the Baptist Autumn Fayre opened and was immediately packed out with people looking for some Christmas bargains. The Cookham Dean Village Hall was packed with goodies and was full of bright colours. There was a tombola with Nick Billinghurst and also a tombola for cuddly toys with Charles Elly; brightly coloured hampers and spirits were there for the main raffle and also a Christmas cake ; stalls for all flavours of fudge, jams and cakes and pastries; lovely cards for various occasions and Christmas wrapping paper, tags and Advent calendars; jewellery; ‘Trash with Panache’, videos and books; jackets and scarves - and refreshments were served throughout. |

There was even a children’s corner run by the Rollett family where getting the sticker in the right place on the church. All the proceeds are given to charity and this year there were three which are the Emmaus Communities, Starlight Children's Foundation and the Township School, Knysna, South Africa. They will be sharing £2,100. |
