Cookham Dean Church is filled with a beautiful smell of fresh flowers for the 2009 Flower Festival as Cookham residents busily set up their contributions for the St John the Baptist Flower Festival. This year it is a bit later than usual, as it is normally in June. It does allow for a different selection of flowers to be used. The arrangements have a vibrant autumnal look and the arrangements depict 'Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness' from Keats' poem 'To Autumn' and show what talent there is in the Cookhams. The Flower Festival launch is this evening Friday 2 October and can be seen from Saturday until Monday from 10am - 9pm apart from when there are services. |
