The Media Hub had a VIP guest speaker at their June birthday meeting – British Olympic Gold Medallist and Lane4 Managing Director Adrian Moorhouse who talked to guests about the ‘Secret to Success’.
The former British swimmer has translated his sporting success into the business world, setting up a consultancy that has a leader in the field of human performance, helping individuals and teams achieve their full potential. Adrian had said: ‘Organisations can learn a lot from the world of sport and I am looking forward to speaking at the Media Hub about my experiences and what it takes to achieve success – I will share the secrets I acquired as an elite sportsman to those working in an office or from home.’
Sarah Parfitt and Sarah Rodi, the two Cookham-based journalists who set up the networking group in 2013, are delighted Adrian could make their 2nd birthday celebrations.

The June Media Hub took place at 7.30pm on Monday 8th in the Berkshire suite at the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Cookham, who provided guests with a complimentary drink on arrival. Claire Pearce, General Manager at Moor Hall Conference Centre, says: ‘It is testimony to the remarkable quantity and, of course, quality of the media professionals living and working in and around Cookham that the Media Hub has managed to attract a speaker of such prestige. I am thrilled by the prospect of hosting the event, we enjoy a national reputation as a venue for events of all sizes but we also see ourselves very much as part of the Cookham community.' |

Sarah of Parfitt Media said: ‘We are delighted that Adran Moorhouse was our guest speaker at our 2nd birthday celebration at Moor Hall. Adrian's story is a fascinating one – from gold-winning Olympic swimmer in Seoul to a successful businessman at Lane4 in Bourne End. With so many people making career changes in their lives, I am sure that Adrian's speech resonated with our members and was a source of inspiration.’
Freelance journalist and Editor of MumsaboutCookham.com Sarah Rodi says: ‘The Media Hub continues to grow, which is very exciting. Those who attend range from film producers to print journalists, broadcasters, digital and social media experts, and graphic designers. But this event is open to all, as we are raising money for the local schools - Holy Trinity Primary School and Cookham Rise Primary School.
We would like to thank all our sponsors - especially Moor Hall - and of course Adrian. I have been fortunate to work for Lane4 this past year, and they certainly practise what they preach. It is truly a dynamic company that motivates people to achieve their full potential.’
The Media Hub is extremely grateful to all
the local businesses who supported the Adrian Moorhouse event
