The festive Media Hub – a monthly
gathering for media professionals in the area – took place on
Tuesday 1st December, and was a ‘claus’ for celebration! "
The lively networking event, set up by Parfitt Media and
MumsaboutCookham.com, aims to bring media types together, and was held
at the Bel & the Dragon in Cookham. Those who attended were
treated to complimentary seasonal canapés by chef Ronnie Kimbugwe and
live music by Renee Cullen, Stuart Epps and Juliet Epps. Renee
said: ‘Music is a part of me and I always look forward to singing at
the Media Hub events – and this one was extra special because I got
to sing with my lovely friend, Juliet."

There were even a few surprises,
such a Secret Santa competition with a bottle of wine from Jo Randell
at Perfect Friday Wine as a prize. The winner was journalist, Lara
Cory from Maidenhead.
‘Christmas wouldn't be Christmas
without a Media Hub event!’ said Hub member Carla
Delaney – manager of Carla Delaney Communications and presenter of
Mid Morning Matters and Biz Buzz at Marlow FM. ‘The Media Hub has
become a class act to look forward to."

Sarah Parfitt, freelance radio producer,
media trainer and consultant says: " We wanted to get the festive
period off to a sparking start for everyone at the Hub and where
better than at the Bel & the Dragon in Cookham, which dates back
to the 15th century and is steeped in so much history? Our members
always look forward to Ronnie's canapés, which are a work of art and
a veritable feast for the senses.’"
Sarah Rodi, national magazine journalist and editor of lifestyle
website MumsAboutCookham says: "This year has been fantastic for
the Hub. We have welcomed dozens more members through the door and
hosted high-profile guest speakers such as Olympic Gold Medallist and
Lane4 Managing Director Adrian Moorhouse, music producer Stuart Epps,
drones pilot Paulo Coll and a social media breakfast with Gay Flashman.
The Hub is going from strength to strength and we are loving
offering our members the chance to learn new skills, hear from
inspiring individuals, connect and exchange ideas.’" The
popularity of the Hub shows there’s a hive of diverse talent in the
area, as those present range from film producers, to print
journalists, broadcasters, PRs, graphic designers, actors and
marketing consultants.
