Flash Floods in Cookham (4 August 2004) With special thanks to Bob McLachlan for the photographs |
||
Flash floods hit Cookham yesterday afternoon with rain coming down like piston jets. In fact High Wycombe had the highest recorded rainfall within an hour of anywhere in the country. The rain was accompanied by thunder and incredible lightening. In fact the Webmaster's computer got 'struck', luckily a fuse saved it, so it was just a matter of replacing it. Sand bags can still be seen outside several of the houses and shops in Cookham High Street today. | ||
