Arriva's driving training went awry Wednesday morning 16 January when the Polish driver failed to spot the Cookham Railway bridge en route to Maidenhead. Ouch! No-one was injured - only the driver and trainer were on board, but the whole of the top deck is wrecked and trains are suspended while the bridge structure is checked. There are clear signs showing a height restriction of 12' 9" . In fact there are dozens of signs around this bridge - do we need warning chains now suspended either side as well? |
