Unlike last year, Regatta was anything but warm
and sunny. Having had the wettest August since records began September
started with floods around the country. In spite of heavy rain the night
before Regatta day on Saturday 6th September at least Cookham was not
flooded but it was very cold, windy and damp. Despite this there was still
a holiday spirit and the great British spirit made it an enjoyable
day.

Apart from the actual races with all sorts
of craft, there was also stalls for people to visit and the Scout barbecue
sold out, possibly with people visiting it to warm up.

The vintage cars were also
in attendance; always popular with the visitors who come from far and
wide.
