Thank you for supporting the 2015 Cookham Festival, it has been a very successful event and our thanks go to the committee members, the volunteers and all of the people who took part, both performers and spectators.
Welcome to the 2015 Cookham Festival, when, yet again, Cookham will entertain and inspire audiences from 2 to 17 May. The Festival Team has put together a wide and exciting programme over the last two years and hopes you find “something for everyone”.
We have drawn on the enormous wealth of talent in the area to offer a kaleidoscope of music, art, drama, comedy, talks and exhibitions. And we are pleased that our local hostelries, for which Cookham is so famous, are also participating by providing special meal offers through “The Festival Feast” and fringe entertainment with “The Musical Pub Tour”.
You can also take part yourself, through our very own “Strictly” dance sessions, culminating in a Tea Dance in the beautiful surrounds of The Odney Club; a “Singalong” to My Fair Lady; and the Festival Arts Hub, where professional artists lead you through the creative process. The “Open Air Painting Competition” aims to encourage artists of all ages and standards to make their personal record of our lovely village.
A special focus for this Festival is the centenary of the First World War. In a series of exhibitions and walks, you can learn about the men of Cookham who gave their lives in the war and the impact that the war had on our local community.
Our Festival is a community event. Its success depends on the enthusiasm of a team of organisers, as well as our essential Festival Makers who are there for you at each activity. We offer them our sincere thanks. Above all, it depends on you, so please save the dates and make sure you book your tickets early.
Malcolm Stork, Chairman
The Festival Committee offers its thanks to the many people who have helped make the Festival possible, with special thanks to performers, artists and Festival Makers, plus:
