This promised to be an enjoyable evening, listening to ‘up and coming talent’ and good music too. It did not disappoint.
The choice of music ranged from Purcell to Poulenc with a variety of instruments used including voice and euphonium.
Many of the soloists were accompanied by Jean Garrett who provided musical and moral support to all the participants. They all performed and responded in a professional way and without exception displayed skill and ability with their chosen instruments.
Above all the young maestros showed a love and passion for music and their instrument, which they conveyed to the audience. It is hoped that all those seeking careers in music will achieve this and that they will enthral many audiences to come.
