Cookham
Day Centre was the brainchild of Elisabeth Sanders, who raised the money
to buy and refurbish the house in the late 1970's. The house had
originally been the Police Station and the gate to the cells is now on
display on the ground floor of the building.
The building
was opened as a Day Centre at the beginning of the 1980's having been
refurbished for use as a Day Centre. The money was raised by the
people of Cookham and the building was opened by Richard Baker.
