Alison originally trained as wallpaper and fabric designer and later obtained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.  She has exhibited locally  for many years and she also has had successful solo exhibitions of her work in France .  She runs regular classes in oil painting at the Norden Farm Centre for Arts in Maidenhead and  provides occasional 1:1 tuition for individuals.

A landscape painter – she derives her initial inspiration from her colourful garden in Taplow or from her marathon journeys across England and Wales on horseback. The paintings then evolve in the studio by a process that she describes as “playful experiment”.  The results come from an intense, physical use of paint that, together with an urgency of execution, producing fresh, vital and often lyrical pieces of work.
