The Cookham Youth Project was set up in 1998 after several young people had spoken on Cookham Summer FM asking for more facilities to be provided for them in Cookham.

The Cookham Youth Project is a registered charity and is run by a Management Committee. The Cookham Parish Council have a nominated representative on the committee, as do Cookham Dean Cricket Club. All Youth Workers are CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked. The Cookham Nomads, Maidenhead Advertiser Charitable Trust, Val Rice and Friends, Timmy Mallett, the Fabulous Shirtlifters, The Kaffirs of Cookham Dean, the Cookham Christmas Charity Society, the King's Hall Trust, Cookham Dean Village Fete, Cookham Dean Tennis & Croquet Group, Cookham Fire Brigade, RBWM, the Volunteer Bureau, Cookham Social Club, Holy Trinity PCC, Rotoract, Probus and Rotary plus many individuals who have given not only donations, but their time and also their experience.
