This
is a rare opportunity to see a large number of original
paintings by the acclaimed Cookham Dean painter, Ralph Thompson,
friend of Stanley Spencer and illustrator of the animal books by
Gerald Durrell. Ralph also appeared on a
series of BBC television programmes demonstrating his remarkable
skills as a painter of animals.
There is also a talk about Ralph Thompson on Friday 1st May by
Wynn Reilly, Ralph's stepson. Wynn was instrumental in getting
many of the artworks together, which are all privately owned,
while Tess Marsh curated this unique exhibition. |
