: Refuse Collectors strike : Cookham Webmaster August 19, 2022, 05:07:44 PM GMB, the union for refuse collectors, has announced members working in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) will strike from 31 August.

They added: “While we hope that industrial action can be avoided, we will keep our residents updated through our communication channels.” According to the GMB, the present rate of pay for refuse workers in RBWM is £9.91 per hour. Workers at Biffa and Veolia in the local area are paid closer to £12 per hour, while those employed directly by Slough Borough Council earn £11.24 per hour and have a better package of terms and conditions. |
