: RBWM - Paying tribute to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II 1926 - 2022 : RBWM Press Release September 09, 2022, 03:43:06 PM Paying tribute to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II 1926 - 2022
Following the sad announcement of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, the Union Flag has been lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect at the Town Hall in Maidenhead and the Guildhall in Windsor. The leader of the council and the mayor have passed on their condolences and thoughts to the Royal Family, please visit our website to see their messages. We are expecting to see an increased media focus on Windsor with television crews and journalists visiting the town. The Royal Family have created an online book of condolence and issued guidance for those wishing to pay tribute by leaving floral tributes at Royal Residences. If you are visiting Windsor to leave a floral tribute to Her Majesty The Queen, please ensure that you remove any plastic packaging from the flowers and leave them outside Cambridge Gate at the top of the Long Walk, as directed by stewards. Flowers from this area will be moved inside Windsor Castle on a regular basis. Our community wardens and officers will be in Windsor town centre and we will be providing any essential updates to residents via our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064687237131 and Twitter accounts. You can also find information on our dedicated webpage https://www.rbwm.gov.uk/home/community-and-living/births-deaths-and-ceremonies/her-majesty-queen-1926-2022 which will be updated with further announcements over the coming days. |
