Title: Crime Update Post by: Thames Valley Police on December 02, 2019, 06:45:32 PM FIRST - SOME REALLY GOOD POLICING:
An off duty Met Pol officer reported that he was following a red BMW 5 series car, which he believed had been involved in local burglaries. He asked for a ‘marker’ to be put on the car, for local officers to follow up. Local police arrived and the BMW made off at speed. Later that night, another police Officer saw the car driving at speed and noted the marker, as it drove east along the Bath Road. He turned around his police car and attempted to intercept it. It again made off, doing 80 mph in a 30 mph area. The BMW made every effort to avoid police cars, driving in an extremely dangerous way. Eventually, the car engine cut out and driver got out and ran away in Horton and hid amongst the garages. Other units arrived, police carried out an area search and he was found. Police then searched the car and found items, used to carry out burglaries and a set of Mercedes car keys ! He was arrested for failing to stop and suspicion of taking a car without consent, going equipped and dangerous and disqualified driving. This was a really good night for police teamwork - all from a Met Pol officer thinking he recognised a car. Well done all those teams that made an arrest and prevented more victims of burglary. NEXT - ANOTHER CASE OF SEXPLOITATION ! A resident in Maidenhead, has received an email, alleging he had been to a Porno sight and unless he send them $850, they will send copies of the video they have taken, to everyone in his personal address book. This is a very common email scam. If you get one, simply delete it.
