Title: Message from Cookham Medical Centre: Post by: Cookham v Coronavirus on March 19, 2020, 01:57:49 PM Please can we reassure people that the surgery is still working and still has staff both here and working remotely but we are only able to let people in with planned appointments
Our receptionists are doing their best to answer calls as quickly as possible. There is a small gap between the end of the phone message and the ‘please hold’ message, which there is nothing we can do about. Please do not hang up, you need to stay on the line and you will be put into the queue. Our GP triage is to ensure we minimise the number of people in the waiting room at any one time so the Drs book the patients they need to see at staggered intervals. Nurse clinics are carrying on though we are staggering their appointment times too where possible Prescription requests should ideally be in writing for safety reasons, and we have an external letterbox these can be put through If people cannot get anyone to bring a written request here or to the pharmacy for them – we will temporarily take requests over the phone but we need to be extremely careful we understand exactly what is being requested – dosages etc. We don’t want many people doing this because if the lines are tied up carefully taking down a list of medication, unwell people may not get through. Our team are processing requests as fast as possible – and the pharmacy are doing an amazing job coping with all this Thank you |
