Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust said the first two patients, who died on Tuesday, March 10 and Friday, March 13, were both in their 90s and both had underlying health conditions. The third patient, an 88-year-old woman, died last week. She also had an underlying health condition. The hospital also announced on Wednesday, March 11 that ‘a small number of staff’ had been sent home to self-isolate after they tested positive for the virus. On Tuesday, new visitor restrictions were introduced at Frimley Health’s hospitals, including Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. It said people who are vulnerable as a result of their medication, have a chronic illness or are over the age of 70 should not visit any health and care settings. Visitors must be immediate family or carers and people have been asked to consider other ways of keeping in touch such as phone calls. The trust has also advised that visitors should be limited to one per patient, with some exceptions such as for patients receiving end of life care. |
