Title: BT Update Post by: Cookham v Coronavirus on March 23, 2020, 07:34:54 PM Given the unprecedented challenge we’re all facing as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19) we wanted to update you on what BT is doing to respond. We know the measures being put in place to contain the virus could be impacting your business and that, as a result, you may need to restrict travel, communicate differently or work remotely.
Here is an update on what BT is doing to keep your business running. 1. Prioritising keeping you connected Our engineers are working to increase network capacity to better handle growth in home working. In parallel we continue to monitor usage of our phone and internet services; but we don’t foresee any disruption to service. Our network is built to handle huge evening demand peaks (up to 17 Terabits per second) whereas daytime usage is only around a quarter of that figure, so we’re confident our network can cope. 2. Advice on remote working We have experts in our customer support teams to help your people learn how to video-conference and use the other collaboration tools BT provides. Also, if you need extra network capacity we can offer advice on that too. 3. Ensuring BT operates as usual We have robust business continuity plans within BT to manage scenarios like this and are working hard to minimise any disruption. We are committed to maintaining all our business services but recognise that the situation is clearly very fluid and that many of our suppliers will be affected to various degrees too. We’ll keep you informed if this is likely to affect the services you receive from us in any way.
