Title: Non Essential Car Journeys Post by: Thames Valley Police on April 06, 2020, 11:51:18 AM Our officers have stopped a large number of people this weekend who are out taking non-essential journeys.
These have included a man who was driving to jet wash his mother’s patio, and a man driving a 50 mile round trip to do some shopping. Trips like these are NOT essential and are putting a strain on emergency services. Additionally, going out on a motorbike does NOT count as self-isolation. We will always aim to engage with people and explain the new regulations to them, but fines may be handed out to people continuing to make unnecessary journeys. |
