There has been another increase in deaths related to coronavirus in hospital trusts operating in and around Berkshire.

One more death has been recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the overall figure to 552 since the start of the pandemic, according to NHS England figures released on Tuesday (June 9) afternoon.

UK-wide deaths related to Covid-19 now stand at 40,883, up 286 in 24 hours.

There have been 289,140 confirmed cases across the country.

The latest figures in Berkshire

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – 353 (no new deaths reported)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – 179 (no new deaths reported)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - 20 (one new death reported)
It is important to note that Frimley Health runs sites outside of Berkshire, for example Frimley Hospital in Surrey, so it is hard to get an accurate figure for the exact amount of deaths in Berkshire alone.

Cases in the county where people have tested positive for coronavirus now stand at 2,443.

As of Tuesday Reading still has the highest number of cases in Berkshire, with 591 patients testing positive - no change from the previous day.

Slough has one new case, standing at 458. There has been one new case in Bracknell, now at 259.

West Berkshire's cases remain at 382, Wokingham's remain at 452.

To date, 301 people have tested positive in Windsor and Maidenhead - three new cases since yesterday.
