Title: M4 closure: Full weekend closure for new bridge to be built at M25 junction
Post by: Cookham Webmaster on June 26, 2020, 02:19:45 PM
Drivers using the M4 are warned the motorway is set to close for an entire weekend for a new bridge to be installed.

The motorway is to shut in both directions between junction 4b at the M25 and junction 5 at Langley.

The closure is for the installation of the new Old Slade Bridge near junction 4b.

The original bridge was knocked down earlier this year and now there will be a major project to build a new one as part of the smart motorway project.

The motorway will close at 8pm on Friday, June 26, and reopen again at 6am on Monday, June 29.

Long-distance traffic will be directed via the M25, M3 and M40, with drivers heading for more nearby destinations following local diversions.

Highways England says the diversions will be clearly signed, but drivers are warned there could be delays.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and leave extra time for their journeys.
