Title: Double-figure rise in coronavirus cases recorded in Berkshire

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Berkshire has risen by 10 to 3,291, today's (July 16) data from the Department of Health and Social Care shows.

No further deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, with the total remaining at 570 across Berkshire NHS trusts.

All but one authority in the county has recorded a rise in positive cases today, including four in Slough. This is the latest breakdown per area:

Reading : 776 cases (an increase of one)
Slough : 650 cases (an increase of four)
Wokingham : 598 cases (no increase)
West Berkshire : 477 cases (an increase of of two)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 408 cases (an increase of of two)
Bracknell Forest : 382 cases(an increase of one)
UK-wide, the death toll has risen to 45,119 after another 66 people died with coronavirus in hospitals, care homes and the wider community.

A further 642 people have tested positive for Covid-19, making a total of 291,911 confirmed cases.

In all, 570 deaths have been recorded by Berkshire NHS trusts since the start of the pandemic. For a breakdown per trust, please see below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 364 (one new death recorded)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 186 (no increase)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20 (no increase)

The government's chief scientist has said people should keep working from home if they can.

Sir Patrick Vallance's views are at odds with those of Prime Minister Boris Johnson who has called for people to return to their workplaces in recent days.

But Sir Patrick told a committee of MPs that home working was an effective method of keeping people distanced from each other.

The confirmed cases of coronavirus in RBWM is reported as 406. I am not sure what that is based on.
