Title: Only 8 Days To Go To Complete Our Survey Post by: Thames Valley Police on August 13, 2020, 01:53:00 PM I am writing to update you on the Neighbourhood Watch Impact Survey that we launched on 30th July, highlighting the numbers of responses we have received to date and what we are seeing in terms of response rates from different parts of the country.
We have received nearly 27,000 responses to the survey – with still 8 days to go until it closes. There are certain force areas that have a much higher rate of responses than others and it is looking like these areas’ results are going to be more aligned to the national picture and achieve a more reliable understanding of the impact of Neighbourhood Watch in their areas than areas that have a far lower return. The reason for this is, with a very low return, just a few responses can skew the results and give an inaccurate picture of what is happening in that area. We have received quite a low return from many London Boroughs and some of the Welsh force areas in particular. If you would like an update about the number of responses from your particular area please do drop us an e-mail at enquiries@ourwatch.org.uk . Please continue to circulate the survey as widely as possible to your own networks and to your partners to share across their networks to ensure that we can produce a meaningful report for your area from the survey results. About 50% of the responses we have received so far are from people living in NW areas and 50% are from those who either don’t live in a NW area or don’t know if they do or not. This enabling a good comparison between the responses of each group of people, so I would encourage you and your partners to share the link with both NW members and non-members and to diverse groups of people. Thank you so much for your support for this project so far and with your help, I am sure we can gain a real insight into the difference that Neighbourhood Watch can make for your area, as well as across England and Wales.
