Four out of six areas saw a rise in cases, bringing the number of positive tests to 3,786. Reading, Slough and Bracknell Forest each saw two new positive tests recorded, while Wokingham had one. No further deaths have been recorded at hospitals in the county. A total of 347,152 people are confirmed to have had the virus since the start of the pandemic, an increase of 2,988 since yesterday. The Government said a further two people had died in the UK within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, making a new total of 41,551. Mr Raab told BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show: “Let’s just be clear about this when we think about airports – there is no silver bullet in airports. “The current data suggests that the success rate of positively identifying people with Covid with a test in the airport is less than 10%.” Put to him that those numbers increase if passengers are then tested again seven days later, Mr Raab said: “There is no silver bullet in the airport alone and that’s why we have the quarantine. |
