Title: Live as third of Berkshire could be in Tier 2 and banned from seeing loved ones Post by: Cookham v Coronavirus on October 21, 2020, 10:32:07 AM A third of people in Berkshire could be put under stricter Tier 2 restrictions by the end of this week as infection rates continue to soar.
Authorities in Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead are in talks with the Government to be put into a "high risk" alert as both have infection rates above 100 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data. If both areas are put into Tier 2 lockdown it would mean people would be banned from meeting friends or extended family indoors in any setting, whether that be in a pub or restaurant or at home. It comes as more than 170 cases were confirmed in a week period in both Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead. Slough has overtaken Windsor and Maidenhead in terms of infection rates in the seven days leading to October 15. Its infection rate stood at 127.1 per 100,000 people, meaning that there were 190 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the seven days leading to October 15. In Windsor and Maidenhead, the infection rate stands at 116.9, with 117 people testing positive for coronavirus over the same period.
