The new deaths related to Covid-19 were reported at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, NHS figures show. Almost a third of the new infections were in Slough, which recorded 72 additional cases, followed by Windsor and Maidenhead with a rise of 53. Today's update from Public Health England (Wednesday, October 28) said that across the UK 942,275 people have now tested positive for Covid-19. This represents an increase of 24,701 over a 24 hour period. A further 310 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the UK total to 45,675. Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 61,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
