Post by: Cookham v Coronavirus on November 18, 2020, 05:37:54 PM
Berkshire saw 21 deaths with Covid-19 in the week up to November 6 - new figures show.

Five people whose 'usual residence' was in Reading died with coronavirus in the seven days up to that date, with the second national lockdown beginning on November 5.

There were also seven more deaths in Windsor and Maidenhead, five in Wokingham and four in Slough.

Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire were the only areas of Berkshire that saw no new deaths that week - although each recorded new deaths with the virus the week before.

Of the latest deaths, 19 took place in hospital while the other two were recorded in a care home in Shinfield.

The figures, released on Tuesday (November 17) by the Office for National Statistics, include all deaths with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate up to November 6 and registered by November 14.

In total 835 people from Berkshire have had coronavirus mentioned on their death certificates since the start of the pandemic.

Across the county 6,026 people have died of all causes since the start of 2020 - meaning the virus has been mentioned on 13.85 per cent of all death certificates issued in the county since the start of the year.
