Title: RHS Gardens to remain open during lockdown
Post by: Cookham Webmaster on January 08, 2021, 03:30:12 PM
Following the upgrade of the UK’s coronavirus risk to the highest level and the latest Government guidelines announced on Monday 4 January, we are pleased to confirm that the four RHS Gardens, RHS Garden Wisley, RHS Garden Hyde Hall, RHS Garden Rosemoor and RHS Garden Harlow Carr, can all remain open for exercise and wellbeing.

In addition to the safety measures already in place, including social distancing and enhanced cleaning, we are further reducing the daily capacity allowed at each garden. This means there will be fewer visitors in the gardens at any one time, so as a member, you can enjoy your visit safely.

We do ask that everyone considering visiting the gardens does not travel outside of their local area, defined in the latest government guidelines.

Mandatory pre-booking remains in place, and those wishing to visit the gardens must book a time slot online at rhs.org.uk/gardens. There is currently good availability.

If you hold a pre-booked ticket but you now cannot visit as planned due to the new restrictions, please contact your local garden directly to cancel by clicking the email links below.  Please do not take up a slot which could be used by another member.

Play areas will remain open, but enclosed areas of the gardens, including Glasshouses, Alpine Houses and Bird Hides, are now closed in line with the new regulations. All garden events and adult education workshops are cancelled until the end of February. Catering venues will close, but takeaway options will be available at all gardens.

Garden centres at the four RHS Gardens will remain open during this period also with further limits on the number of people allowed inside at any one time. Our online shops, rhsplants.co.uk and shop.rhs.org.uk continue to offer a wide selection of gardening plants, tools and gifts.

We are hugely grateful for your support and patience throughout this difficult period which helps us continue our vital work during and beyond this crisis. We will continue to bring you all the gardening inspiration and advice you need through our magazine, podcast, website and newsletter to help keep you growing at home during this time.

Thank you from all of us at the RHS, and please stay safe.
