Title: Specialist Searches - Windsor Post by: Thames Valley Police on April 13, 2021, 03:24:37 PM Thames Valley Police is carrying out specialist searches in and around Windsor as preparations continue for the funeral of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
Local residents and businesses will have noticed an increased police presence in Windsor, which is part of many visible and not so visible security measures in place. These are all part of our measures to keep everyone safe during this period of national mourning. Officers and dogs have been searching in areas across the town as part of numerous security measures ahead of the funeral of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh on Saturday (17/4). They have been searching street furniture, including phone boxes, drains, bins and other items, as well as carrying out patrols in the town centre, the Long Walk and Home Park.
