Title: Decent reliable builders in Cookham...
Post by: forum poster on April 27, 2021, 06:26:01 PM
Hi
I was looking for a quote for a property in Cookham Village to put up an RSJ or other suitable beam into a cottage which had the main separating wall between living room and dining removed many years ago...

The job would be I guess to build up two brick pillars either side of the small remaining existing partition wall to save disrupting the existing brickwork and then slide in a beam of a suitable type. The span is about 10 feet? The other option I thought of was to prop the wall half way in some fashion but not sure how it would look.

Anyone able to make a recommendation?
Many thanks

You could try Next Door Cookham. There seem to be several people who have experience of builders in there https://nextdoor.co.uk/
