Only 15 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Berkshire - while the latest weekly figures saw infection rates rise in four areas.

The latest data from Public Health England on Saturday (May 9) shows Slough had the biggest increase, with six new cases.

The total of new cases is down from yesterday's update.

Meanwhile, weekly Covid-19 infection rates increased in Wokingham, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire and Windsor and Maidenhead in the seven days up to May 4 - the most recent weekly data available.

No new Covid-19 related hospital deaths have been recorded in NHS trusts serving Berkshire.

The Government said a further two people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 127,605.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 1,770 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,434,860.
