The latest data from Public Health England on Monday (May 10) shows Reading and Slough had the biggest increases, with seven new cases each. The total of new cases is up from yesterday's update, when there were 15. Meanwhile, weekly Covid-19 infection rates fell in Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough and Reading in the seven days up to May 5 - the most recent weekly data available. The sole increase was in Wokingham - and even this was only from 11.1 to 11.7 cases per 100,000 people. No new Covid-19 related hospital deaths have been recorded in NHS trusts serving Berkshire. The Government said a further four people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 127,609. Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. The Government also said that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 2,357 lab-confirmed cases in UK.
