Two Berkshire areas have seen a slight rise in the coronavirus seven-day infection rate, according to new data.

The latest Public Health England data shows that West Berkshire has recorded an increase in infection rate for the second day, along with Reading.

Thursday's (May 19) figures also show 41 new cases were recorded across the county in the last 24 hours - with the most new cases in Reading and Wokingham.

The Government said a further seven people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 127,701.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 2,874 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,455,221.

This is the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people for the week ending May 15:

Bracknell Forest: 10.6 (down from 11.4)
Reading: 22.9 (up from 20.4)
Slough: 27.4 (down from 28.1)
West Berkshire: 27.8 (up from 22.7 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 10.6 (down from 12.5)
Wokingham: 10.5 (down from 11.7)

Bracknell Forest: 7,118 cases (down 1)
Reading: 11,035 cases (+14)
Slough: 15,650 cases (+1)
West Berkshire: 6,506 cases (+7)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,559 cases (+5)
Wokingham: 8,315 (+14)

No NHS mortality is issued at the weekend. This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire as of Friday, May 14:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,248 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)

Government data up to May 19 shows that of the 58,489,834 jabs given in the UK so far, 37,250,363 were first doses – a rise of 264,858 on the previous day.

Some 21,239,471 were second doses, an increase of 369,018.
