Title: SOS SAVE OUR SWALLOWS Post by: lizzyk on May 30, 2021, 09:58:50 PM WildCookham is looking for help from people living around Cookham to find out where are our Swallows and House Martins are nesting this year. Both species, like so many, are facing decline and, in their case, it's mainly down to two issues - fewer insects and the general 'tidying up' and development of houses, barns and outbuildings where these birds like to nest. So we're hoping first to find out where they are and then have a basis to look into how we can help them in future years.
If you know of any places they may be nesting it would be really helpful. We are just trying to plot the areas where they are nesting, we don’t want anyone to go near their nests. In fact if you see dead babies or empty nests that would be of interest too. Do let me know of any information you can give, email me on liz@cookham.com. THANKS |
