Data from Public Health England shows the biggest one-day increase across the area was in Reading, where there were 37 positive covid test recorded. There were 32 cases in Wokingham, 30 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 24 cases in Bracknell Forest. Meanwhile Slough recorded another 20 cases and West Berkshire just six. The weekly infection rates across the area saw an increase in Windsor and Maindenhead as well as Wokingham. However infection rates have been dropping across Reading, Slough, and West Berkshire. Nationwide, as of 9am today, there were another 15,810 positive coronavirus cases recorded across the United Kingdom. This means a total of 4,699,868 people have contracted the virus since the start of the pandemic last March.
