Title: Flooding a 'very real concern' at Spencer's Farm development site
Post by: Cookham Webmaster on August 06, 2021, 08:40:58 PM
Flooding remains a ‘very real concern’ for some councillors following the release of further details over a planned housing development at Spencer’s Farm.

The greenbelt site, which runs alongside Maidenhead Road, is being targeted for 330 homes and a new primary school as part of the emerging Borough Local Plan.

The proposed redevelopment of the land in North Maidenhead has faced long-term opposition from sections of the community due to its close proximity to land which is prone to flooding.

Don't understand. If, as every time previously, community and Council together agree this site is prone to flooding, why is this developer allowed to keep throwing it back at us? Have the council got no teeth anymore to tell them to push off?

Now that the government are starting to panic over flooding and global warning, perhaps the coucils will be told to not allow planning in places liable to flodding.
