The official figures show that two more deaths were recorded in Wokingham in the last 24 hours, while two more people died in Windsor and Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest. It means that so far, 1,476 people have died from coronavirus in Berkshire since the start of the pandemic. The announcement comes after the Government revealed that 203 people had died from Covid-19 across the country. The death toll now stands at 135,455 nationally. A further 341 cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Berkshire in the last 24 hours. Windsor and Maidenhead was the worst affected area after 93 positive tests were returned. Wokingham had the fewest new cases, with 40. Nationally there were 31,564 new positive coronavirus cases bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 7,496,543 as of 9am today. There have also been 48,617,703 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine given out while 44,512,572 people have now been double-jabbed.
