Title: Three more covid deaths and more than 300 new Berkshire cases

Three more covid-related deaths have been recorded in Berkshire bringing the overall coronavirus death toll to 1,478.

And according to today's Public Health England data there were 330 fresh covid cases within the last 24 hours across our region.

Two deaths were recorded in Reading where 281 coronavirus-related have been reported.

There was also a further covid-related fatality in Bracknell Forest - meaning 170 covid-related deaths have been recorded here.

The total number of cases across Berkshire since the start of the pandemic now stands at 92,954.

The area with the highest number of daily covid cases reported was Windsor and Maidenhead with 72 new cases.

The Government said a further 182 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 135,803.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have now been 160,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 36,710 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Government data up to September 22 shows that of the 93,274,224 Covid jabs given in the UK, 48,674,154 were first doses, a rise of 29,462 on the previous day.

Some 44,600,070 were second doses, an increase of 44,065.

Berkshire for the week ending September 17:

Reading: 264.4 (down from 275.7)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 282.3 (down from 294.8)
Slough: 249.4 (down from 247.4)
Bracknell Forest: 189.3 (down from 194.9)
Wokingham: 221.9 (up from 211)
West Berkshire: 174.2 (up from 154)
