Title: Berkshire Covid latest as 395 new cases are reported in 24 hours

A further 395 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across Berkshire in the last day.

The latest official figures published on Thursday evening (October 7) show that Windsor and Maidenhead - with 112 - had the biggest increase in the latest 24-hour recording period.

West Berkshire and Bracknell Forest had the smallest increases today, with both reporting 35 more positive tests for the virus.

Government data up to October 5 shows that of the 94,085,830 Covid jabs given in the UK, 49,035,877 were first doses, a rise of 41,347 on the previous day.

Some 45,049,953 were second doses, an increase of 28,572.

The Government said a further 122 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 137,417.

As of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 40,701 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending October 2:

Reading: 307.5 (up from 304.4)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 379.4 (up from 360.9)
Slough: 332.3 (up from 327.6)
Bracknell Forest: 302.8 (up from 297.2)
Wokingham: 339.2 (up from 329.4)
West Berkshire: 165.3 (down from 193.1)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):
