Title: UPDATE ON RESIDENT PARKING DISCOUNT SCHEME
Post by: Cookham Webmaster on November 17, 2021, 12:57:29 AM
When we were forced to end the previous resident parking discount scheme back in early 2020 to stabilise the short-term financial position of the council, we pledged to introduce a successor discount scheme when our finances allowed.

We are very pleased to say that following careful financial management, the delivery of balanced budgets, and steady improvement over the last two years, we are now in a position to be able to do so.

As a result, a new resident discount scheme will come into effect next year, subject to cabinet approval next month, which will see a 100% discount applied to the first hour of parking at selected council car parks. Or in simple terms you can park for free for the first hour if you sign-up to the new scheme.

Full details will follow, and further information is included within this video, but this is a major pledge on track to be delivered by this administration.

We will, of course, also be continuing with our current policy of allowing fully electric vehicles to park for free and having 100% discounted on-street parking permits.
