The Borough's Local Plan for Windsor and Maidenhead has now been officially adopted after more than 10 years of planning. The 2013 – 2033 plan identifies sites across the Royal Borough for thousands of new homes to be built and has been designed to meet the forecasted increase in population, alongside each towns’ economic growth. Government-appointed independent planning inspector Louise Phillips released her final report on the borough’s blueprints last week and found it to be “sound” following years of hearings. Councillors are to debate and adopt the Borough Local Plan at an extraordinary full council meeting at the Holiday Inn on Tuesday, February 8. If members approve the Borough Local Plan (BLP), this does not automatically mean the developments listed in the plan will begin right away. Some are still subject to planning permission that will be determined by the council's planning committee. A majority of developments will be happening in Maidenhead, but Windsor will also see its fair share of new homes. Here are some of the major developments coming forward: |
