Title: £6,000 available for Local Charities Post by: Cookham Webmaster on February 24, 2022, 11:27:11 AM Marsh Meadow, extending to around fifty acres, is owned by Copas Farms who make it available as an Area of Public Open Space for the local community. It is run by The Marsh Meadow Management Committee. Over the years the meadow has been provided free of charge for charitable events such as the Cookham Regatta, Let’s Rock the Moor, Macmillan Mighty Hike and Thames Path Challenge.
During 2021, the Marsh Meadow Management Committee has reserved money from events during the year with the proceedings to be donated to charities within the community. Over the years in excess of £250,000 has been raised from these events for charity and this year £24,000 has already been donated to The Link Foundation, Child Bereavement UK and Wooden Spoon. There is £6,000 in total to donate for local charities, and they are accepting applications for funding. If you would like to apply for funding, please email aliciawallis@copasfarms.co.uk with information about your organisation and how the money will be used as soon as possible. All applications will be discussed at the beginning of March and the chosen charities will be contacted soon after. |
