The excavations at Cookham Church Paddock have produced more of great interest to see, not least the discovery of a probable cemetery that is likely to be associated with the monastic settlement. You may know we have offered free public guided tours of the site, led by the dig director, Dr Gabor Thomas. So far more than 300 people have visited on these tours, with another 145 already booked for the tours next Saturday.

As a result of this fantastic level of interest, I wanted to let you know we have added a further tour next Saturday, at 10:00 am. The 3:00 pm tour is fully booked. There are still 20 places left on the 2:00 pm tour, but I expect these to be taken quite quickly.
