According to the latest BBC weather forecast, parts of Berkshire could see snow in the run-up to Christmas. As the festive period gets underway December looks to be a lot chillier than November, which was relatively warm.

Temperatures in Reading will drop to below freezing for the first time this month on Wednesday, December 7. Berkshire's busiest town is unlikely to see the snow, but other areas of the county could receive a smattering.

On Friday, December 9, and Saturday, December 10 Wokingham, Bracknell, and West Berkshire are predicted to see sleet, which could turn into snow if it's cold enough. The BBC weather forecast says that there will be "sleet and a gentle breeze" on these days.

Elsewhere in the county, namely Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead locals are unlikely to see any snow. West Berkshire will be a lot cooler during this period.

People living in Thatcham could be in with the chance of seeing some snow on December, Friday 9. From 4pm to 5pm the temperature will drop from 2 degrees to 1 degree celsius with a 21 per cent chance of precipitation.

In the morning of Saturday, December 10, those living in the North Wessex downs, namely the area around the hamlet of Elcot, could also see some sleet or snow. From 8am to 9am temperatures will drop to below freezing, so make sure you wrap up warm.

Hungerford could also see some snow on Saturday, December 10. Sleet is predicted from 7am to 9am and temperatures will climb from below-freezing to 2 degrees by 11am.

Back in east Berkshire, Wokingham and Bracknell could see some sleet from 2pm to 5pm on Friday, December 9. Temperatures will drop from 3 degrees down to 2.
