The M25 has been closed clockwise in Berkshire this morning (April 6). The closure is in place due to a defect on the carriageway which has recently been discovered.

Traffic on the M25 has been halted between J13 and J14 to allow engineers to assess the carriageway. Long queues have formed on the clockwise carriageway as a result of the closure.

The exact details surrounding the defect remain unclear but it has been affecting the road since around 11.10am. Three lanes were initially closed but this has been extended to the entire clockwise section of the M25 between J13 and J14.

Queues easing but still present on the M25

Traffic queues are still affecting motorists on the M25 but are now easing. The queues formed at around 11am when the road was closed clockwise to allow emergency pothole repairs to take place.
