Officers and PCSO’s from the TVP Problem Solving and the Geographical Neighbourhood Teams, have been active across Windsor and Maidenhead this morning, in a high visibility initiative targeting offenders carrying knives, or involved in County Line supply of drugs, by utilising our Stop and Search powers. You may have seen us in the Town Centres - we were hard to miss ! We had several successful stop searches and located a man who was wanted and evading the Police and the Criminal Justice system. A really good result.

We have had a White Vauxhall Mokka (mini SUV 4x4) – occupants of which are responsible for numerous TFMV (Vans for tools). On each occasion it is the same occupants / vehicle, but they are displaying false plates, to evade detection.
If you see this van in suspicious circumstances - perhaps driving slowly along your road - Old Windsor has been particularly targeted - contact on the 101 number of online at the TVP website, asking that the information be passed to

We now have information that Nottingham Knockers - the young lads and now girls, that go door to door selling household products, no longer need cash. They can charge items directly to credit and debit cards, using a payment gadget. Last week, I put out that someone was supposed to have been charged £25, but when they checked with their bank, £400 had been charged.
As a result RBWM Trading Standards has produced a new advice handout, which we would like you to share as widely as possible please.

It is a brilliant Group. I am forever introducing new groups that I come across ! I am also part a sub group with ‘Give and take Care’, a Community Action Charity, based out of Brunel University. We meet monthly, at Brunel University and have developed 2 inter-generational youth projects and we need your help !.
Project 1: A course mainly for Windsor residents, but if it is successful, we will take it to Maidenhead, for young people growing their own food and vegetables. We are hoping to match up these young people with Allotment owners, initially, those near the Maidenhead Road / St Leonards Road / Vansittart Park. The aim is for experienced Allotment holders, to pass on their knowledge, about food, growing and nutrition, to these young people. They in return, will benefit hugely from this and may even be able to pass back, their IT / mobile phone skills assistance. We hope to start around the beginning of next year - February 2020 - with ground preparation work and planting. The aim, is an inter-generational project, where the students grow the food, working with existing Allotment holders, who will share their skills and expertise. There is an existing scheme in Sawyers Close, where local residents have been shown how to build raised beds, sow and take care of plants. We hope to be able to sell the vegetables the students grow, to help make the initiative self-funding. They will also be cooked at a Food Academy style course at the end of the growing season. We therefore need help and support from the local Allotment Associations. We envisage about 20 students, selected from the local schools - boys and girls - along with referrals from yourselves and local agencies. The age range - possibly 14 up ?? Do you know of vacant allotments - I know - rare as hen’s teeth - are you willing to mentor, or work with new students, on your allotment

jeffrey.pick@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk Project 2: Is a 20 week, ‘re-purposing’ sewing course, for students aged between 14 – 18. This inter-generational course is well advance in the planning. It will be held at East Berks College, St. Leonard’s Road, Windsor, who will be providing the lesson rooms along with all the sewing equipment / machines and facilities necessary. We hope to start on September 9th.
What do I need
The course will be managed under the auspices of ‘Give and take Care’ working closely with Busy Buttons a registered Charity, that already organises these types of activities for young people, based in their premises, beside the old Fenwicks shop. Busy Buttons is manged by Lau & Louella, who are trained, experienced fashion designers, specialising in Film and theatre costume, so this is an opportunity that should not be missed, by any young person - boys and girls, interested in ‘Fashion’. We have those brilliant designers, managing the course, Fashion students from East Berks College, who know how to work the various machines, but we need experienced mentor / volunteer sewers / tailors / machinists, from all styles of fashion, to pass on their experience and knowledge, to this new generation of possible future designers. It is a long course - and commitment - but we have been assured by the WI, who are also involved that it will need this length of time, to take the students through design, pattern making and cutting, to all the necessary sewing skills required to produce a finished garment. The ethos, is re-purposing ‘existing clothing’. Eton College also want to be involved and they have asked their students for clothes they, or their families no longer need.
At the end of the course next Easter, students will graduate, with a fashion show. Students from Langley College, will do the filming, hair and make-up as part of their courses. The present location of the runway and fashion show is Langley College, where they already have a runway.
We will combine the two projects at the Banquet at the end of the food growing / cooking course, where we will re-present the fashion show.
Do you have the desire to be part of these two new and demanding courses ? I do hope so. Whenever I ask you all for help, the response is always amazing. There is a huge pot of talent out there, particularly those - not in their first youth - who were employed in the garment / fashion industry - or just making clothes for their families. when real training took place and valuable experience, is perhaps going to waste. Retro and styling from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, is exactly what these young people want to access.

They were awarded Volunteers of the year, at a ceremony last year.

28/5 Tuesday 4.50 a.m. Hotel Car Park, Manor Lane. A Honda Civic had been reported by several people acting suspiciously around Maidenhead, the occupants looking into parked cars. They drove into the hotel car park and continued to do so, until spotted and disturbed by staff. They immediately made off, but after the police were called a descriptions given. The car was located by the police and the occupants arrested, on suspicion of ‘going equipped’.
