Another six people have died in Berkshire hospital trusts after testing positive for coronavirus.
According to the latest figures released by NHS England on Saturday (April 18), a total of 257 COVID-19 patients have died while in the care of the county’s hospital trusts – up from 251 on Friday (April 17).
All six of the deaths took place within the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital in Slough. Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey also comes under the trust’s care.
There were no further deaths reported at Royal Berkshire Hospital or the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Prospect Park Hospital in Tilehurst.
Across the UK, as of 5pm on Friday (April 17), of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 15,464 have died.
Slough still has the highest number of cases in the county with 272, now followed by Reading, Berkshire, which stands at 262.
There are now 210 Wokingham cases, 168 cases in Windsor and Maidenhead, 189 in West Berkshire and 145 in Bracknell.
Across the UK, the coronavirus death toll rose to more than 15,000 fatalities on Saturday.
